Moikka, olen miettinyt ”sarjan” aloittamista, jossa kerron mun netflix- suosituksia. Oisko teillä kiinnostusta semmoseen? Mullekin saa ehdotella sarjoja- ja elokuvia netflixistä, oon semmonen netflix hullu ja haluun lisää katottavaa.
Tämä sarja meni jostain syystä multa ohi, kun aluksi tutkailin tämän vuoden uutuuksia. Ehkä ajattelin, että tämä on jotain teinidraamaa, joka ei sillä hetkellä kiinnostanut minua. Mutta aloin sittenkin katsomaan Netflixistä ekaa jaksoa vähän aikaa sitten Ekan jakson jälkeen tuli tunne, että pakko katsoa kaikki melkein yhteen putkeen. Yhteen putkeen tämä ei onnistunut. Katsoin yhden jakson kerran päivässä. Kolmetoista syytä perustuu Jay Asherin samanimiseen kirjaan vuodelta 2007.
Sarjassa seurataan teini-ikäistä Clay Jenseniä, joka saa kotiinsa mystisen paketin. Paketin sisällä on kasetteja, joille itsemurhan tehnyt Hannah on nauhoittanut 13 syytä, miksi hän päätyi tähän ratkaisuun. Jokainen kasetti on osoitettu jollekulle henkilölle, joka on omalta osaltaan tehnyt vääryyttä Hannahia kohtaan tavalla tai toisella. Kun Clay on kuunnellut kasetit, hänen olisi tarkoitus antaa ne eteenpäin seuraavalle henkilölle.
Heti ensimmäisessä jaksossa, ja melkein kaikissa jaksoissa sen jälkeen, tulee esiin kysymyksiä joihin täytyy saada vastaus. Mitä nämä ihmiset tekivät Hannahille, mikä on ”se hetki”, josta muut koululaiset puhuvat, miksi he eivät halua että Clay kuuntelee nauhat loppuun, kuka on mystinen Tony… Halusin todellakin vastaukset kaikkiin kysymyksiin, ja ärsyynnyin älyttömästi aina kun Clay keskeytti nauhojen kuuntelemisen. Kiljuin pääni sisällä ”KUUNTELE NE NAUHAT HEMMETTI VIEKÖÖN!!” Samoten myös jotkin hahmot aiheuttivat suuria (negatiivisia) tunteita. Tämä on kyllä tosi surullinen aihe ja entistä surullisemmaksi teki se, kun tässä tietää jo heti alusta asti, että Hannah päätyy lopulta tekemään itsemurhan.
Pidin tässä kuitenkin siitä, että mitään ei esitetty mustavalkoisena. Tyhmiä ja pahoja asioita tekevät ihmiset eivät aina ole läpeensä pahoja, eikä ikinä voi tietää mitä toisen ihmisen elämässä on meneillään. Pohjimmiltaan kunnollisetkin ihmiset osaavat olla ilkeitä milloin mistäkin syystä. Sarjan aikana katsojien kysymyksiin vastaillaan, mutta sitten ilmaantuu uusi mysteeri joka vaatii vastausta, ja kiinnostus säilyy loppuun asti. Sävy tosin muuttuu koko ajan mustemmaksi ja viimeiset jaksot olivat jo todella raskasta katsottavaa. Taisi pari kyyneltäkin (okei, enemmänkin niitä taisi ) tulla silmäkulmasta.
Tässä vaihdellaan takautumien ja nykyhetken välillä usein, mutta se on toteutettu hyvin, eikä sarja tuntunut sekavalta ollenkaan. Aihetta käsitellään myös mielestäni aika realistisesti. Välillä aloin jo miettimään, että kuinka paljon paskaa voi yhden ihmisen niskaan sataa, mutta niinhän se monesti menee. Lumipalloefekti lähtee pyörimään yhden ihmisen kohdalla ja kohta sitä on kaikkien silmätikkuna. Ja kaikkein surullisinta on se, että tällaista oikeasti tapahtuu kouluissa. Tässä on aiheena myös koulun osallisuus ja se, miten asiat olisi voitu hoitaa paljon paremmin.
Clay, Hannah ja Tony ovat minun lempihahmojani tässä sarjassa. Muut hahmot ovat myös hyviä ja monivivahteisia, mutta en nyt sanoisi että pidin heistä (jotkut hahmot halusin kuristaa omakätisesti). Ja Hannahin vanhemmat, voih. 🙁 Näyttelijät olivat todella vakuuttavia, en tuntenut ketään heistä entuudestaan mistään. Paitsi Hannahin äiti oli kyllä jostakin tuttu.
Suosittelen tätä sarjaa kaikille, vaikka aihe onkin raskas. Kannattaa tosin varata tukku nenäliinoja mukaan… Ja valmistautua henkisesti rankkoihin loppupään jaksoihin. Onhan sarjassa lopulta tärkeä sanoma, ja tämä jäi kyllä mieleen pyörimään vielä pitkään katsomisen jälkeenkin.
Kun olette katsonut 13 reason why, niin suosittelen katsomaan BEYOND THE REASONS. se kertoo tuottajilta, näyttelijöiltä ja muilta ihmisiltä miten tämä kuvattiin ja miksi Hannah teki mitä teki… Toi herättää ajatuksia. Suosittelen, että katsokaa se oikeesti!
